Leaving our driveway to head out for Nikki and Ryan's wedding we were hopeful that Cobourg still had some colour on the trees because, in our neighbourhood most of the colour is now on the ground. Much to our pleasant surprise, as we got closer on the 401 East, fall foliage was still plentiful and it provided a fantastic backdrop for this wonderful golf course, outdoor wedding. The breeze was brisk at times but this wedding couple and their wedding party, along with their guests, were troopers for their photos. There were soooo many well planned out details and fun items incorporated into Alex and Jesse's wedding day at Valley Croft. Ranging from a bridesmaid reveal, beer boys during the ceremony entrance, surprise proposal at the bouquet toss, to an epic father/daughter dance! The reception even included a dance floor photobooth, glow in the dark foam wands to amp up the party, and a sparkler exit while all of the guests gathered round. The full wedding party, both sides, really showed a lot of enthusiasm and input during their photo session times. Having already hung out with these 2 lovebirds, Jon and Lynn, on a few occasions, ie. engagement photos, site visit followed by a casual lunch, it was going to be great vibes on their wedding day. The plan was to have everything on the vast layout and property that is the Horseshoe Resort, in the scenic Horseshoe Valley area of southern Ontario. This was our first time photographing at this venue and the staff made us feel welcome and helped us out with everything we needed. The fall colours were in full splendor and the light was magical. Kristina and Brett's fairy tale wedding was the 2nd day of a double header wedding weekend at Horseshoe Resort, in Horseshoe Valley, Ontario. Rain wasn't about to dampen any spirits or enthusiasm with this bunch. It was going to be a fun filled day ahead! Through the regular course of chatting with the ladies we discovered that we shared a love of steampunk and steampunk festivals. It was like that scene straight out of the comedy movie, Stepbrothers, "Did we just become best friends?!? Yep!" We've already started to make plans for a future dark beauty styled shoot.
